West Bengal Assembly signs MoU for NeVA implementation, supporting 'One Nation, One Application' vision.
On 4 June 2026, the West Bengal Legislative Assembly signed an MoU to implement the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA), becoming India's 33rd legislature to adopt the digital platform. The agreement was signed in the presence of Union Ministers Kiren Rijiju, Arjun Ram Meghwal, and L. Murugan. NeVA supports the 'One Nation, One Application' vision and aims to digitize legislative processes, enabling paperless governance, better record management, transparency, and real-time access to bills, questions, notices, and proceedings. The platform enhances efficiency, accountability, and citizen engagement in legislative functioning. NeVA was launched by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs as part of the Digital India initiative. It creates a common platform for all legislatures across India to function in a paperless manner with unified data standards. Key features include e-Notice, e-Questions, e-Debates, e-Bills tracking, and member services portal. This adoption by West Bengal marks significant progress in India's legislative digitization journey.
