Govt to Announce Sardar Patel National Unity Award Winner for Highest Civilian Contribution

The Union Government is set to name the winner of the prestigious Sardar Patel National Unity Award this year. Instituted to recognize outstanding and inspiring contributions to promote the cause of national unity and integrity, the award seeks to reinforce the core values of a cohesive nation.

Established in 2019, the Sardar Patel National Unity Award is modeled on the lines of the Padma Awards and serves as the highest civilian honor in the field of national integration. Named after Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India who unified over 500 princely states, the award carries a citation and a medal but no monetary component.

For competitive exams, key figures include the eligibility criteria—open to any Indian citizen or organization without distinction of race, occupation, position, or gender.
