Bank Unions Defer Nationwide Strike Following Talks With IBA

The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has deferred its planned three-day nationwide bank strike after reaching understandings during high-level talks with the Indian Banks' Association (IBA).

A high-level committee comprising representatives from the IBA and UFBU will be formed immediately to deliberate on the demand to declare the remaining Saturdays as official bank holidays.

The deferment ensures normal operations across public sector banks, while branches of new generation private sector banks like ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, and Axis Bank were already scheduled to remain open.
