India's southwest monsoon season officially ended on Wednesday, recording cumulative rainfall 12.6% below normal. Across the country, total rainfall during the June-September period stood at 759.4 mm.

This figure represents the fourth-lowest monsoon rainfall recorded in the country since 2001, reflecting significant overall precipitation deficits across the season.
