Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) recorded contrasting behaviors in the Indian equity markets in September. FPIs actively participated in the primary market by investing $1 billion in initial public offerings (IPOs), while simultaneously offloading $4.8 billion worth of equities from the secondary market. A total of 96 IPOs have been launched in 2026, with 34 occurring in September alone.
