Nilekani Task Force Invites Public Ideas for NTA Examination Reforms

The high-powered task force chaired by tech leader Nandan Nilekani invited stakeholder recommendations to overhaul the functioning and security protocols of the National Testing Agency (NTA). Appointed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi following widespread controversies over competitive examination irregularities, the panel requested public submissions in English, Hindi, and regional languages by September 13.

The NTA was established in 2017 as an autonomous self-sustained testing organization under the Ministry of Education to conduct entrance examinations for higher educational institutions, including NEET, JEE, and CUET. Recent paper leaks, administrative oversights, and technological vulnerabilities exposed systemic flaws, prompting government intervention to restore public trust in national examination frameworks.
