The success rate of female candidates in the JEE-Advanced reached an all-time high in 2026. For the first time, over 10,000 women cleared the highly competitive examination, despite registering in fewer numbers.
However, the surge in qualifiers did not lead to a significant change in the gender ratio at IITs. The share of IIT seat allotments for female candidates saw only a marginal increase, moving from 20.15% to 20.22%.
