Launches 'Argon' flagship AI model outperforming Astra and Opus while cancelling Gemini 3.5 Pro.
Google parent company Alphabet unveiled its new flagship artificial intelligence model, Gemini 4, while confirming that the previously planned Gemini 3.5 Pro model has been scrapped.
The flagship model, codenamed "Argon", is larger in size than Google's previous line of top-tier "Pro" models. According to company releases, Argon achieved higher self-reported performance scores than Astra and Opus across multiple industry benchmarks.
