Advances 12-year mission to study 11 asteroids, scheduling Eurybates flyby after main-belt targets.
NASA's Lucy spacecraft, launched in 2021 to explore Trojan and main-belt asteroids, is preparing for its next planned target encounter during its 12-year mission to study 11 asteroids.
Having already visited two main-belt targets, Lucy's next scheduled flyby will target the asteroid Eurybates and its satellite Queta in August 2027, before continuing flybys of Jupiter Trojan asteroids through 2033.
