US Deported 414 Indian Nationals in First Quarter of 2026, EAM Tells Rajya Sabha

In a written response to the Rajya Sabha, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar disclosed that the United States deported 414 Indian nationals during the first three months of 2026. A combined total of 588 Indian citizens were returned from the US and European nations during this period.

The data underlines rising global enforcement against undocumented migration, human trafficking networks, and irregular entry routes popularly termed 'donkey flights'. Western nations have significantly tightened border controls, asylum processing policies, and expedited removal procedures for individuals entering without valid travel authorizations.

The Ministry of External Affairs emphasized that India collaborates closely with foreign governments to verify identities, issue emergency travel certificates, and dismantle transnational human smuggling syndicates operating within domestic borders through law enforcement coordination.
